Portraits of My Peers (2020)

Since the beginning of 2020, the whole world was swept by the Covid-19. As a method of tackling the pandemic, a ‘zero-Covid strategy’ was implemented among the society of China. The functioning of the whole society was paused.

Profoundly the pandemic worried me and generated an uncertain view towards my future development. I am not the only one. The uncertainties force us to contemplate our plans and directions for the coming years.

Six months after graduation, I photographed my friends in the end of 2020. More or less, changes happened for their mindsets. And my personal attitudes as well as experiences during the pandemic are also reflected within my photographic works of others.

Where shall we go as a generation under the pandemic?
